The Oblate Disc Form

Where most teapots in this collection use a rounded or elongated body, this one is oblate — its width significantly exceeds its height. The four pierced openwork feet carry as much decorative presence as the body itself, with cut-out patterns that lift the teapot and cast shadows on the surface below.

Hand-Engraved Circular Medallion Band

Each circular medallion along the band is cut by hand into the silver-plated surface using fine metalworking tools. Hand engraving is the practice of incising decorative lines directly into metal by hand, and it is the primary technique on this teapot. No two medallions are machine-identical — the hand-carved quality shows in slight variations of line depth and spacing. The teapot also includes a built-in strainer inside the spout, so loose tea leaves stay contained while pouring.
