Palace-Scale Brass Lighting, Hand-Pierced in Marrakech
This 80cm engraved brass palace dome pendant light brings the luminous atmosphere of a Marrakech riad into grand residential and hospitality interiors. Handcrafted in the Marrakech metalworking quarter by master metalworker Abdul Jalil, each dome is shaped and pierced by hand using traditional Serrouj fretwork — a technique where the artisan cuts intricate geometric and floral apertures directly into brass to cast warm shadow patterns across surrounding walls.

Craftsmanship and Origin
Each lamp is individually pierced by hand in the Marrakech metalworking quarter using the traditional Serrouj fretwork technique, producing shadow patterns unique to every piece. Every geometric and floral aperture in this pendant is cut by hand into brass by artisans in the Marrakech metalworking quarter, using the Serrouj pierced fretwork method passed down through generations. This labour-intensive process means no two lamps cast identical shadow patterns. Discover more about these traditional Moroccan metalwork techniques and their cultural roots.
Care and Styling
Wipe clean with a dry cloth to preserve the polished brass finish. The brass surface develops a natural patina over time — allow it for authentic character, or polish gently to maintain brightness. In styled interiors, this pendant anchors Moroccan-inspired rooms and brings warm contrast to contemporary spaces, particularly effective against dark walls or above a formal dining table. Pair it with complementary pieces from our Moroccan lighting collection or explore the full Brass Lamps collection.
Made to order: Please allow 5–8 business days before shipping for your lamp to be handcrafted and prepared.
