Both gold-tone teapots in this collection are natural brass — the colour comes from the brass itself, not from a plating layer. This one has geometric arabesque engraving in a band on the lower body, a flat base without feet, and comes in three sizes (Medium to Extra Large, 6–12 servings). The Gold Engraved Brass Teapot carries full-body arabesque engraving, four decorative feet, and spans five sizes from Extra Small to Extra Large — the wider range if you need smaller serving sizes.
Key Features & Benefits
- Natural Gold-Tone Brass: Solid brass with mirror-polish finish — no plating layer. The warm amber-gold tone is the natural colour of polished brass, which is different from the brighter or cooler gold of electroplated finishes. Brass polishes develop a deeper warm patina with age rather than tarnishing grey.
- Geometric Band on Lower Body: An interlocking geometric arabesque pattern is hand-engraved in a band around the lower section of the body — the same naqsh vocabulary as the silver teapots but in brass, where the cuts read with a different warmth.
- Flat Base, No Feet: Like Minimalist Hammered Silver Teapot and Silver Coffee Server Pot, this teapot sits on a flat base without decorative feet — a clean, unpretentious silhouette that keeps the focus on the brass tone and the engraving band.
- Mid-Range Capacity: Three sizes — Medium (650ml / 6 servings), Large (850ml / 8 servings), Extra Large (1.3L / 12 servings) — suitable for everyday household use or small gatherings. No Extra Small or Small variant; for smaller serving sizes see the Gold Engraved Brass Teapot.
- Gooseneck Spout: Traditional curved gooseneck for controlled pouring, consistent with the wider atay teapot tradition.
The Artisan Story
Made from solid brass using traditional Moroccan metalwork techniques — the same raising and engraving process as the silver range, but without a plating stage. The brass body is polished directly to a mirror finish. The geometric naqsh band is engraved by Kamal’s team after polishing, using the same steel chisel work applied to the silver pieces.

Your Questions Answered
Q: What is the difference between this and the other gold brass teapot in the collection?
A: Both are natural brass with a hand-polished mirror-gold finish — no plating on either. The differences are size range and decoration. Our footed gold brass teapot comes in five sizes from Extra Small (250ml / 2 servings) to Extra Large (1.3L / 12 servings), carries full arabesque engraving across the body, and sits on four decorative feet. This teapot comes in three sizes (Medium to Extra Large, 6–12 servings), has engraving only on the lower body band, and sits on a flat base without feet.
Q: How does the tone of natural brass compare to gold plating?
A: Polished brass has a warm amber-gold tone, slightly more orange-warm than electroplated gold which tends toward a brighter, more neutral yellow. The difference is subtle at first but becomes more apparent as the piece ages — brass develops a deeper warm patina, gold plating maintains its colour longer but can wear unevenly.
Q: Is brass food-safe for tea service?
A: Yes. Solid brass has been used for tea and coffee service throughout the Arab world for centuries. The key is maintaining the polished surface — an unpolished or pitted surface can accumulate tannins. Regular polishing and hand-washing keeps the surface clean and food-safe.
