The most size-flexible moroccan silver engraved teapot footed in the collection — five options from Extra Small (250ml / 2 servings) through to Extra Large (1.3L / 12 servings), so the same form and engraving quality serves an intimate morning pour or a table of twelve. The body carries a wide scenic relief band across the lower-middle section: architectural motifs embossed into silver-plated brass so the raised surface catches light differently from every angle.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Five Sizes, One Artisan Form: Extra Small (250ml / 2 servings), Small (450ml / 4), Medium (650ml / 6), Large (850ml / 8), and Extra Large (1.3L / 12 servings) — the widest size range among engraved footed teapots in the collection, making it the right choice when you need a specific capacity.
  • Scenic Embossed Relief Band: Architectural and scenic motifs run in raised relief around the lower-middle body — not incised into the surface but pushed outward, so the patterns catch light from any direction and remain tactile to the touch.
  • Four Cabriole Feet: Slender curved feet lift the teapot cleanly off any tray, protecting surfaces during service and giving the form its characteristic elevated posture.
  • Stacked-Ring Finial: The dome lid narrows to a stacked-ring finial — a quieter, more architectural detail than a ball or acorn, consistent with the scenic relief aesthetic across the body.
  • Available as Standalone or in Four Tea Sets: This teapot is also included in four complete silver sets in the collection — the 8-Piece Silver Tea Set with Multicolour Beldi Glasses, the 8-Piece Silver Engraved Tea Set with Aqua Beldi Glasses, the 8-Piece Mint Tea Ceremony Set with Arch-Panel Glasses, and the 5-Piece Silver Tea Set for Three.

The Artisan Story

Made by Kamal and his team in Marrakech’s medina using traditional repoussé — a technique in which the brass body is worked from the reverse side with a rounded punch to push the metal outward and form the scenic relief. The depth and definition of each raised section depends on how many passes the artisan makes, working the same area repeatedly until the motifs achieve the right visual weight. Read about the metalwork traditions behind repoussé and naqsh. Meet Kamal and the workshop.

Your Questions Answered

Q: Why are there five sizes when most engraved footed teapots only come in two?
A: This teapot was developed with the full service range in mind — from the person who wants an individual-sized pot for daily use (250ml) to the host serving a formal gathering of twelve (1.3L). The scenic relief band was sized to read proportionally at every capacity rather than appearing oversized on a small pot or lost on a large one.

Q: What is repoussé and how does it differ from engraving?
A: Repoussé pushes metal outward from the inside to create raised relief — the pattern sits above the surface. Engraving cuts into the surface to create incised lines. This teapot uses repoussé embossing, which is why the scenic motifs are three-dimensional and catch light from multiple angles rather than lying flat.

Q: Is the teapot safe for stovetop use?
A: No. The silver-plated brass construction is designed for table service, not direct heat. Brew your tea in a kettle or separate vessel, then transfer to the teapot for pouring — as is standard in Moroccan atay practice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this teapot safe for food contact and free from lead?

A: Yes, absolutely! This teapot is made from materials approved for food contact use and has been tested to ensure it contains no lead, toxic materials, or heavy metals. The silver plating is food-safe and designed specifically for brewing hot beverages. We prioritize your health and safety in every piece.

Q: Can I use this teapot on the stove?

A: Yes! Traditional Moroccan teapots are designed to be placed directly on gas or electric stovetops. Use low to medium heat to prevent damage to the exterior finish. Never use in the microwave. For induction cooktops, check if your specific model is induction-compatible.

Q: Does it come with tea glasses?

A: This listing is for the teapot only. We offer complete tea sets that include matching glasses and serving trays—check our Moroccan tea set collection for complete sets. / This set includes matching tea glasses and a decorative serving tray.

Q: How do I clean and maintain a brass/silver teapot?

A: Hand wash with warm water and mild dish soap after each use—never put in the dishwasher. Dry thoroughly to prevent water spots. The exterior will naturally develop patina (darkening), which is desirable. To restore shine, use brass/silver polish or a mixture of lemon juice and salt. See our complete teapot care guide.

Q: Will the teapot tarnish over time?

A: Yes, brass and silver naturally tarnish and develop patina—this is normal and considered beautiful in Moroccan culture, showing the piece's authenticity and age. You can maintain the original shine with regular polishing, or embrace the darker, antique appearance that develops naturally.

Q: Is this teapot handmade or machine-made?

A: This teapot is entirely handcrafted by skilled artisans in Marrakech using traditional metalworking techniques. The engraved patterns/hammered texture/smooth finish is created by hand, requiring 3-5 days/one week of skilled work. Each piece has subtle variations that prove its handmade authenticity.

Q: Can I actually brew tea in this or is it just decorative?

A: This is a fully functional teapot designed for daily use! It's perfect for brewing traditional Moroccan mint tea or any loose-leaf tea. The authentic design includes a built-in strainer to filter tea leaves. These teapots are used daily in Moroccan homes, not just for decoration.

Q: Does it have a strainer/filter inside?

A: Yes! Traditional Moroccan teapots include a built-in strainer at the base of the spout that filters tea leaves as you pour. This allows you to brew loose-leaf tea directly in the pot without a separate infuser. Some models also have a removable filter basket.

Q: How long does shipping take and is this authentic?

A: This teapot is authentic, handcrafted in Morocco. Production takes 2-3 business days, then shipping is 7-15 days for USA/Europe with free standard shipping. Express shipping (3-5 days) available. Each piece comes directly from artisan workshops in Marrakech's historic metalworking quarter.
