This 8-piece Moroccan mint tea set is built around atay — the Moroccan tradition of brewing strong, sweet mint tea and pouring it from height into small glasses to aerate the surface and create the characteristic foam that signals a properly served glass. A footed embossed silver teapot, six arch-panel arabesque glasses, a round engraved tray, and 100 g of Moroccan tea leaves make this a complete service for six — designed for the full ceremony, not just the drink.

What’s in the Set

  • Footed embossed teapot with red silk tassel — silver-plated brass with three small feet and raised embossed geometric and floral patterns, a tactile texture distinct from engraved pieces. The red silk tassel marks this as a ceremonially presented service and is removable for cleaning. Teapot capacity: 0.6–0.7 litres.
  • Six arch-panel arabesque glasses — mouth-blown glass with vertical blue and red arch-panel columns and gold arabesque arch motifs. The arch form echoes the mihrab and doorway archwork found throughout Moroccan mosques and medina architecture.
  • Round engraved tray — silver-plated brass with engraved surface detailing, sized at 30 cm diameter to hold the full service in one visually unified set.
  • 100 g Moroccan tea leaves — included as a permanent component of every set so the ritual can begin the moment the package arrives.

The Artisans Behind This Set

Each glass in this set is mouth-blown by Younes, our Marrakech glassblower, working in the Marrakech medina, where breath and molten glass become the everyday vessels of Moroccan hospitality. The embossed and engraved silver-plated brass teapot and tray are crafted by Kamal, master of silver-plated crafts, in his Marrakech workshop using the naqsh engraving tradition passed through generations of metalworkers.

Dimensions & Specifications

Overall set dimensions: 7.1 x 7.9 x 11.8 in (18 x 20 x 30 cm). The teapot measures approximately 18–20 cm in height; the tray has a 30 cm diameter. Total product weight: approximately 1.5 kg. Shipping weight: 2.0 kg (4.4 lb).

Care & Use

All components are food contact safe, lead-free, and non-toxic. Hand wash only — the silver-plated brass surface and decorated glasses should never go in the dishwasher. To keep the embossed and engraved metalwork looking its best, follow our guide on how to care for your Moroccan teapot. The red silk tassel is removable and should be detached before washing the teapot.

The Ritual

Moroccan mint tea is more than a beverage — it is a gesture of hospitality, welcome, and community. Pouring from height isn’t showmanship; it aerates the tea and creates the characteristic foam that signals a properly served glass. Learn the full tradition in our complete Moroccan tea ceremony guide.

Trade & Hospitality

Restaurants, hotels, and retailers can order this mint tea service in multiples through our wholesale Moroccan products programme — the same handcrafted quality at trade pricing for hospitality and gifting at scale.

Product Questions

Is the red tassel removable for cleaning?

Yes. The red tassel is removable and should be detached before washing the teapot, then reattached for display or service.

What is the teapot capacity?

The teapot holds about 0.6 to 0.7 litres, suitable for serving six small glasses of Moroccan mint tea.

Can the decorated glasses go in the dishwasher?

No. The decorated glasses and silver-plated brass pieces are hand wash only. Dishwasher heat and detergent can damage the arch-panel decoration and metal finish.
