This copper globe pendant light is shaped from solid copper and hammered by hand, dimple by dimple, until its surface becomes a field of tiny facets. In daylight it has the soft sheen of polished metal; switched on, each hammer mark picks up the glow, and the open base pours warm, amber light onto the table or counter below.

Hammered by Hand in Souq Nhas
Each globe is made in the workshop of Abdul Jalil, the master lamp artisan of Souq Nhas, the old copper and brass market of the Marrakech medina, where he has worked metal for more than 30 years. He uses Dinanderie, the traditional hand-hammering technique: a flat copper sheet is shaped into a sphere over an iron anvil with a progression of hammer heads. No two blows are identical, so the dimpled pattern on your lamp is its own.
Where It Works Best
- Kitchen islands: two or three of the 30–40 cm size in a row
- Dining tables: one 40–60 cm globe, or a pair over a long table
- Bedside and reading corners: the 20–25 cm sizes in place of a table lamp
- Cafés and restaurants: a row of globes over a counter or communal table
Copper warms up pale oak, white zellige-style tiles, linen and matte black cabinetry, so it fits Scandinavian, Japandi, industrial and modern Moroccan rooms. A warm-white or filament bulb brings out the amber tone.
Caring for Copper
Copper deepens naturally over time; many owners love the richer tone it develops. Dust with a soft, dry cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners. To restore the original shine, follow our metal care and polishing guide. Always switch off the power before cleaning.
For Designers, Hotels and Restaurants
Every size is made to order, so matching sets for a run of islands, a restaurant or a boutique hotel are easy to plan. Trade buyers can request quantities and quotes through our wholesale program for hospitality and interior projects, or browse our full Moroccan lighting collection to pair it with wall sconces and table lamps.
