Craft and Provenance
Each lamp is handcrafted in Abdul Jalil’s workshop at Souq Nhas in Marrakech, where traditional Moroccan metalwork techniques have been practiced for generations. The Serrouj piercing method involves hammering and chasing geometric patterns directly into solid brass, creating hundreds of perforations that cast intricate shadow play when lit. No two lamps share identical punch marks — every piece carries the trace of the artisan’s hand.
Styling and Care
Mount this round brass sconce in a hallway, reading nook, or dining room where its projected patterns can fill the surrounding wall surface. The warm LED glow works particularly well alongside neutral or earth-toned interiors. A housewarming gift that brings genuine artisan character to a new home, this sconce pairs naturally with other pieces from our Brass Lamps collection and the broader Moroccan lighting collection. For care, an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth keeps the polished brass luminous; a gentle brass polish restores deeper shine when desired.
