Moroccan Almond Briouats are succulent baked goods that count among the most popular tea party cookies in Morocco. In the shape of a triangle, this Moroccan pastry delight is stuffed with almonds and wrapped in a crispy pastilla leaf. The stuffing is made of raw almonds peeled, roasted and chopped, and melted with Arabic gum. Can be accompanied by a warm mint tea, its cinnamon flavor and its fragrance with orange blossom extract makes it a fabulous flavored honey gift for a loved person. These are traditional Moroccan balls made with almonds and sugar. They are perfect with coffee or tea. They are often served as a dessert or as an afternoon snack.
The product is made in the Atlas Mountains in the South East of Morocco. The almonds and sugar used to make these briouats come from this region. The almond trees used to make these Briouats are over 100 years old and the same trees have been used for generations.
