A Square Leather Ottoman Built for Rooms That Work
This brown square leather ottoman is handcrafted in Marrakech from full-grain goatskin with geometric panel construction and contrast topstitching across every seam. Available in five sizes and two leather tones — brown and light brown — it fits entryways, reading nooks, and living rooms that need one piece doing several jobs. An ideal addition for someone furnishing a home with warmth and character.
Construction & Surface Detail
- Square shape in five sizes — from a compact accent piece to a generous floor seat
- Full-grain goatskin leather: natural grain with a semi-matte finish, hand-dyed in brown and light brown
- Geometric panel construction: hand-cut panels joined with contrast topstitching along each seam line
- Zipper closure: a concealed base zipper lets you fill and refill the pouf on your schedule
- Slight color variation: natural with hand-dyed leather — tonal shifts between panels mark each piece as handmade, not a defect
- Filled or unfilled: choose pre-filled with polystyrene foam and cotton for immediate use, or unfilled to lower shipping cost and fill at your own pace
- Weight capacity: holds up to ~250 lb (115 kg) when filled
The Craft Behind This Pouf
Abdelilah, the master leather artisan behind our poufs, works in the Souk Talaa workshops of Marrakech, hand-selecting goatskin for its balance of suppleness and durability before hand-cutting each panel to a template and stitching every seam. Full-grain goatskin leather, hand-cut into geometric panels and stitched in Marrakech, produces a seating surface that softens and patinas with age rather than cracking or peeling. The contrast topstitching along every join is both decorative and structural — each stitch passes through both leather layers, distributing tension across the seam rather than concentrating it at single points.
This pouf is made to order in small batches — please allow 5–7 business days for production before shipping.
Filling Your Pouf
The unfilled option ships flat, lowering freight cost significantly. When you are ready, fill with shredded foam, recycled fabric scraps, or densely packed old clothing — materials that hold shape under weight without compressing flat. Follow our step-by-step guide to filling your pouf for recommended fill volumes and how to achieve a firm, comfortable seating height. Do not use loose polyfill or feathers, which shift and flatten.
Care
Wipe the goatskin surface with a barely damp cloth; never saturate. Condition two to three times a year to keep the leather supple and prevent cracking. Full guidance, including stain removal and off-season storage, is in our leather care guide.

A: We offer both options! You can choose a pre-stuffed pouf with premium polyester filling ready to use, or select the unstuffed version with a bottom zipper to fill yourself. The unstuffed option dramatically reduces shipping costs and allows you to customize the firmness to your preference.
A: For a 16x16" square: 50-60 ounces of polyester fiberfill. For 18x18": 60-70 ounces. You can also use old clothes or towels—about 3/4 to one full laundry basket compressed tightly.
A: This is critical! Pack all four corners FIRST, pushing filling deep into each corner until they're very firm. Then stuff the edges, and fill the center last. Soft corners = saggy pouf. The corners should feel almost hard initially. See our complete filling guide.
A: They weren't packed firmly enough. Unzip and add more filling specifically to the corners. Square poufs need extra-firm corner packing to maintain their angular shape—this is the #1 mistake people make.
A: Very, very firm—especially in the corners. It should feel too hard when you first fill it. The square shape loses definition quickly if under-stuffed, unlike round poufs which are more forgiving.
A: Yes! When properly filled (especially the corners), this square pouf supports up to 250 pounds. Make sure corners are packed tight for stability—soft corners make it feel unstable when you sit.
A: Yes! The flat edges align perfectly with furniture and don't roll or shift. The angular top is more stable for trays, drinks, or books. It looks intentional as a table, not improvised.
A: Wipe all surfaces with a soft, dry cloth weekly—the flat top collects dust. Blot spills immediately. Pay attention to the corner seams; use a small brush to clean dust from edges. Condition the leather every 6-12 months.
A: 2-3 days for production, then 7-15 days standard shipping (USA/Europe) with free shipping. Square poufs pack flatter than round ones, making them economical to ship. Express options available.
A: Yes, handcrafted in Marrakech by master artisans. Creating perfect 90-degree corners in leather requires exceptional skill. With proper care and firm stuffing, it will last 10-20+ years. The leather develops a beautiful patina over time.
