The Artisan Story
The teapot and tray are made by Kamal’s team in Marrakech’s medina using naqsh — the traditional metalworking technique in which geometric and arabesque patterns are applied directly into silver-plated brass using a steel chisel, with no machine engraving. The bell-shaped dome lid narrows to a stacked-ring finial, and the entire teapot body carries tight cross-and-interlace repeat motifs referencing Moroccan tilework and carved plasterwork. The six beldi glasses are mouth-blown by Younes, who works near Marrakech’s Madrasat Ben Youssef using recycled glass and iron blowpipes. The aqua tone in each glass is incidental — not chosen — which is why it shifts slightly between pieces and batches.
