This hamsa grid silver teapot is hand-engraved on silver-plated brass, with the protective Hamsa palm set inside a full geometric lattice of interlocking squares and diamond forms. Unlike simpler hamsa teapots that place the open palm on a plain surface, this model surrounds the symbol with a cross-and-lattice grid that draws on traditional Islamic architectural pattern — the same interlocking geometry found in zellige tilework and carved plaster screens across Marrakech’s historic medina.

Key Features

  • Hamsa in geometric grid panel: The Hamsa hand is hand-engraved at the centre of a full geometric grid — cross-and-lattice forms radiate outward, placing the protective symbol within traditional architectural pattern rather than in isolation.
  • Tall, narrow-waisted body: The elongated form stands taller than compact hamsa teapots, with a narrower waist that transitions to a broad base supported by three ornate feet.
  • Dragon-inspired spout ornament: The spout base carries an ornate scrollwork ornament absent from the compact version — a distinctive detail that adds character to every pour.
  • Domed lid with finial: A curved lid topped with a finial completes the silhouette, echoing the proportions of classic Moroccan atay service teapots.
  • Two serving capacities: Available in Large (8 servings, 850 ml / 29 oz) or Extra Large (12 servings, 1.3 L / 45 oz) to suit intimate gatherings or larger hospitality.
  • Food-safe and lead-free: Certified food contact safe and lead-free, so the teapot is ready for brewing and serving Moroccan mint tea.

Hand-Engraved in Marrakech

Each teapot is hand-engraved by Kamal, a metalwork artisan based in the Marrakech medina who specialises in silver-plated brass engraving. The geometric grid panel is cut line by line with fine hand tools — no machine stamping, no laser etching. The cross-hatched lattice and central Hamsa palm are worked directly into the brass surface before the silver plating is applied, meaning the engraving depth is visible and tactile, not printed on top.

The dragon-inspired scrollwork at the spout base is a separate engraved element, requiring the artisan to transition from precise geometric linework to flowing organic curves within the same piece. This combination of structured grid and freeform ornament reflects the broader Marrakech metalworking tradition, where geometric order and natural motifs coexist on a single object.

Care and Use

This is a usable teapot, not a decorative-only piece. It is food contact safe and lead-free. The handle gets hot when filled with boiling water, so a pot holder or cloth is recommended when serving. Hand wash only — no dishwasher. Dry promptly after washing and gently wipe with a soft cloth to maintain the silver-plated finish. For full guidance, see our teapot care guide.

Styling and Gifting

The hamsa grid silver teapot makes a striking symbolic accent for a curated shelf or sideboard, where the engraved lattice catches light at different angles throughout the day. For buyers drawn to protection-themed symbolism, the Hamsa hand within its architectural grid carries cultural meaning that goes beyond decoration — it’s a piece that resonates with hamsa-symbol collectors and anyone who appreciates the intersection of craft and tradition.

The teapot ships in standard packaging (no gift box included) and weighs approximately 1 kg. It serves 8 to 12 glasses of Moroccan mint tea depending on the capacity chosen, making it suited for both everyday use and hosting. To learn more about the traditional serving ritual, see our complete guide to the Moroccan tea ceremony.

Complete the Moroccan tea service: pair this teapot with a complete tea set including beldi glasses and a serving tray, or choose individual beldi tea glasses and a hand-engraved serving tray separately.

Bulk and trade enquiries are welcome — this teapot is available through our wholesale Moroccan products programme for retailers and hospitality buyers.
