This "shedding" is simply the excess loose fibers from the shearing and hand-crafting process and is not a defect. This is a temporary phase that will gradually stop with regular, gentle vacuuming (using a suction-only attachment).

You can see the authenticity in the "slightly irregular diamond motifs" and by inspecting the knots on the back. Unlike machine-made rugs, which have perfect, identical knots, our artisan-made pieces have slight, unique variations that are the signature of a true, one-of-a-kind work of art.

A: This depends on the material you choose:

• Cactus Silk Rugs: Not Recommended. These are delicate, decorative art pieces. Because they are Dry Clean Only and can be permanently damaged by water or pet accidents, we do not recommend them for high-traffic areas, kids, or pets.

• Wool Rugs: Excellent Choice. 100% wool is naturally durable, resilient, and stain-resistant, making it a perfect choice for living rooms, hallways, and homes with kids. For pets, we recommend a darker or patterned wool rug, which is great at camouflaging fur.  

• Natural Straw Rugs: Best Choice for Durability. This rug is specifically designed to "withstand heavy foot traffic" and is suitable for "Indoor and outdoor use".

• The "Accent" Approach: For a standard living room, use a "Medium" rug (like a 6'x9' or 8'x10') centered under your coffee table. Ideally, the front legs of your sofa and any armchairs should sit on the rug, which connects the space.  

• The "Anchor" Approach: For a large or open-concept room, use an "Extra Large" rug (like 9'x12' or bigger) to "ground" the entire setting. In this layout, all your furniture (sofa, armchairs, coffee table) should sit completely on the rug.
