This leather and kilim cube ottoman combines two of Morocco’s most celebrated craft traditions in one striking piece. The body is built from genuine goatskin leather — hand-cut, vegetable-tanned, and stitched in Abdelilah’s workshop in Marrakech’s historic Bab Debbagh tanneries. The top panel is a handwoven kilim patchwork in vivid greens, burgundy, yellow, and purple, creating a bold pop of color against the rich leather sides.
Two Craft Traditions, One Piece
What makes this ottoman special is the meeting of two distinct artisan skills. The leather panels are shaped using traditional Moroccan vegetable-tanning techniques — a process using natural plant extracts rather than harsh chemicals. The kilim top is woven by hand on a floor loom, then pieced into a patchwork of geometric squares. Each panel tells its own color story, so no two ottomans are exactly alike.
Dimensions & Construction (replaces the same section)
This cube measures 40 × 40 × 40 cm (approximately 16 × 16 × 16 inches) — a compact size that works as extra seating, a footrest, a side table base, or a colorful accent tucked under a desk. The cube shape holds its form well and fits neatly into corners, beside sofas, or at the foot of a bed.
- Sides: Genuine goatskin leather, vegetable-tanned in Marrakech
- Top: Handwoven kilim wool patchwork with multicolor geometric squares
- Shape: Cube / square
- Available colors: Dark Brown leather or Tan leather
- Options: Available padded (ready to use) or unpadded (fill it yourself with textiles, towels, or foam — see our pouf filling guide for tips)
Please Note: Each kilim top is handwoven and pieced individually, so the patchwork pattern, colors, and arrangement will vary from piece to piece. The ottoman you receive may differ slightly from the images shown — this is part of what makes every piece one of a kind.
Processing & Shipping
Because this ottoman is handcrafted to order, please allow 4 to 7 business days for preparation before shipping. Once dispatched, delivery times depend on your location. Shipping is free on all orders.
Styling Ideas
This ottoman bridges traditional and modern interiors effortlessly. The colorful kilim top brings warmth to neutral rooms — try it alongside a cream leather round pouf for a layered texture mix. In a bedroom, it works beautifully at the foot of the bed paired with a handwoven Moroccan rug underfoot. For home offices, slide it under a desk as a compact seat that adds character without taking up space.

Care Instructions
- Wipe the leather sides with a damp cloth — avoid soaking
- Vacuum the kilim top gently to remove dust
- Keep away from direct sunlight to preserve color vibrancy
- The vegetable-tanned leather develops a rich patina over time — this is a sign of quality, not a defect

Handcrafted by Abdelilah’s Workshop
Every piece is handmade by Abdelilah and his team in Marrakech, where artisans earn 3–4 times Morocco’s minimum wage. The leather is sourced and tanned locally using centuries-old vegetable processes. Learn more about the people behind our products on our Meet the Artisans page.
A: We offer both options! You can choose a pre-stuffed pouf with premium polyester filling ready to use, or select the unstuffed version with a bottom zipper to fill yourself. The unstuffed option dramatically reduces shipping costs and allows you to customize the firmness to your preference.
A: For a 16x16" square: 50-60 ounces of polyester fiberfill. For 18x18": 60-70 ounces. You can also use old clothes or towels—about 3/4 to one full laundry basket compressed tightly.
A: This is critical! Pack all four corners FIRST, pushing filling deep into each corner until they're very firm. Then stuff the edges, and fill the center last. Soft corners = saggy pouf. The corners should feel almost hard initially. See our complete filling guide.
A: They weren't packed firmly enough. Unzip and add more filling specifically to the corners. Square poufs need extra-firm corner packing to maintain their angular shape—this is the #1 mistake people make.
A: Very, very firm—especially in the corners. It should feel too hard when you first fill it. The square shape loses definition quickly if under-stuffed, unlike round poufs which are more forgiving.
A: Yes! When properly filled (especially the corners), this square pouf supports up to 250 pounds. Make sure corners are packed tight for stability—soft corners make it feel unstable when you sit.
A: Yes! The flat edges align perfectly with furniture and don't roll or shift. The angular top is more stable for trays, drinks, or books. It looks intentional as a table, not improvised.
A: Wipe all surfaces with a soft, dry cloth weekly—the flat top collects dust. Blot spills immediately. Pay attention to the corner seams; use a small brush to clean dust from edges. Condition the leather every 6-12 months.
A: 2-3 days for production, then 7-15 days standard shipping (USA/Europe) with free shipping. Square poufs pack flatter than round ones, making them economical to ship. Express options available.
A: Yes, handcrafted in Marrakech by master artisans. Creating perfect 90-degree corners in leather requires exceptional skill. With proper care and firm stuffing, it will last 10-20+ years. The leather develops a beautiful patina over time.
