This plain polished silver teapot captures the traditional Moroccan form at its cleanest — a smooth, undecorated silver-plated brass body crowned by a tall conical lid that rises into a pointed dome. No engraving, no ribbing, no hammering. The silhouette itself is the design statement, echoing the tower-and-minaret profiles of Marrakech’s skyline.

The Tall Conical Lid

What separates this teapot from every other plain piece in the collection is the lid. It rises into a pointed tower form — taller and more vertical than the domed and stepped lids found elsewhere. A small hinge clasp holds the lid at the correct angle during pouring, so the tall dome stays secure even when the pot is full. This architectural reference makes the teapot identifiable at a glance on any tray.

Smooth Mirror-Polished Body

The silver-plated brass surface is entirely smooth and mirror-polished, with no surface decoration at all. The body is fully silver-plated inside as well as out, so both the exterior and interior carry the same protective silver layer. The plain finish lets the form speak: the curve of the belly, the arc of the spout, the sweep of the handle, and the vertical thrust of the lid.

Provenance and Craft

Each teapot is handcrafted in Kamal’s Marrakech workshop, where silver-plated brass metalwork has been refined over generations. Kamal and his team shape, solder, and plate every teapot by hand in the Marrakech medina, the historic metalworking centre where dinanderie traditions still thrive. The plain polished body demands the most exacting surface finishing in the workshop — every imperfection is visible on an undecorated surface, so the polishing must be flawless.

Serving and Styling

The tall conical lid gives this teapot vertical presence that a flat-lidded pot cannot match. On a tray with Moroccan tea glasses, the pointed dome draws the eye upward and makes the whole service feel more sculptural. The traditional atay pour — a long, high arc from pot to glass — turns Moroccan tea service into a ritual rather than a routine; our guide to the Moroccan tea ceremony walks through the full sequence if you are building your first service. For someone who prefers smooth silver over ornate engraving, this is the cleanest expression of the form — a piece worth giving to the host who values restraint over decoration.

Care

Wash by hand with mild soap and warm water, then dry promptly with a soft cloth to prevent water spots. Avoid abrasive cleaners and do not use a dishwasher. A gentle silver-polishing cloth will restore the mirror finish if tarnish appears over time. For full guidance, see our complete teapot care guide.

Product Questions

Is this teapot safe on all stovetop types?

Yes. This silver-plated brass teapot is safe on gas, electric, and induction stovetops. Use medium heat to protect the silver plating. For induction, the brass base is magnetic enough for direct use without a diffuser.

Does this teapot have any engraving or decoration?

No. This is a plain mirror-polished teapot with no engraving, ribbing, or hammering. The tall conical lid with pointed dome is the only decorative element. It is the simplest design in the silver-plated collection.

Complete the Moroccan tea service: pair this teapot with a complete tea set including beldi glasses and a serving tray, or choose individual beldi tea glasses and a hand-engraved serving tray separately.
