Really nice, genuine leather. Well stitched, high quality. It took two old bed pillows and three throw pillow inserts and about five minutes. I used the bed pillows to fill out the sides, then pushed the inserts right down the middle. The zipper is super sturdy and even a bit decorative in a nice, brass tone. I like this size and shape pouf because you can either use it upright on the rounded end or flipped over on its side for a more gentle slope.
