Serrouj Craftsmanship from Marrakech
Each lamp is hand-pierced by master metalworker Abdul Jalil in his Marrakech workshop using the traditional Serrouj technique, where tiny perforations are individually chiselled into brass sheet to form arabesque and geometric motifs. This method produces the warm, dappled glow that Serrouj lamps are known for — no two pieces carry identical piercings. The traditional Moroccan metalwork techniques behind this process have been practised in the souks of Marrakech for generations.
Styling Your Brass Bedside Lamp
The warm gold light through Serrouj fretwork suits bedrooms, reading corners, and hallway consoles. A single lamp adds character to a minimalist nightstand; a pair frames a bed symmetrically. Its compact footprint also works well on a desk or shelf where a larger lamp would overwhelm. For a cohesive look, explore our full Brass Lamps collection and the wider Moroccan lighting collection.
