Indulge in the enchanting flavors of Morocco with this simple yet exotic spiced coffee recipe. Perfect for those mornings when you crave something out of the ordinary or for impressing guests with a taste of Moroccan hospitality.
Ingredients:
- Fresh coffee beans (for 2 cups)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- A pinch of ground ginger
- A pinch of ground cloves
- A pinch of black pepper
- Water (2 cups)
- Sweetener of choice (optional)
Instructions:
- Blend the Spices: In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and black pepper. This aromatic blend is the heart of your Moroccan spiced coffee.
- Grind the Coffee: Measure your coffee beans for two cups of coffee. Add the mixed spices to the coffee beans and grind them together coarsely. This infuses the coffee grounds with the spice flavors right from the start.
- Boil Water: While your coffee and spices are being ground, start boiling 2 cups of water. If you’re adding a sweetener, now’s the time to do it, so it dissolves beautifully.
- Brew Your Coffee: Use your preferred method to brew the coffee. A French press works wonderfully for this recipe, but you can also use a drip coffee maker or a traditional pot. Add the spiced coffee grounds to your brewing device, pour in the hot water, and let it brew for 4-5 minutes.
- Serve with Love: Pour the freshly brewed Moroccan spiced coffee into cups. The aroma itself will transport you and your guests to the heart of Morocco. For the complete experience, serve with dates, nuts, or Moroccan pastries on the side.
This simple recipe brings the essence of Moroccan spice and warmth right to your cup. Enjoy this delicious journey with every sip!
