Each 21-inch round pouf is hand-stitched from full-grain goatskin in Marrakech’s Souk Talaa leather district, where Abdelilah and his workshop cut and sew each leather panel by hand. The top panel carries a hand-embroidered geometric star medallion in cream thread — a traditional Moroccan motif — with radiating stitch lines that extend down the side panels.

The Craft Behind This Pouf

These poufs are cut and stitched in Abdelilah’s workshop in Marrakech’s Souk Talaa leather district. Full-grain goatskin is hand-selected for consistent thickness, then each panel is cut to template and joined with a tight blanket stitch — a technique that loops thread over the seam edge, locking panels together and distributing stress across the stitch rather than the hide. Hand-stitched Moroccan leather poufs made with full-grain goat leather and traditional blanket-stitch construction can support seating loads of over 200 kg when properly filled and maintained.

Care
