A Deep Royal Blue Pouf That Holds Its Own

This royal blue leather pouf is a 21-inch round ottoman (20.9 x 11.8 in, 53 x 30 cm) made from hand-dyed goatskin in Marrakech. The blue is deep and saturated, close to the cobalt of the Majorelle Garden walls, and it is carried right through the details: the braided seams and the star medallion on the top panel are stitched in the same blue, giving the pouf a clean, tailored look.

Hand-Stitched in Abdelilah’s Workshop

Each pouf comes from the workshop of Abdelilah, the master leather artisan behind our poufs, near Souk Tala’a in Marrakech’s leather souk. He learned the craft through the traditional maalem (master-apprentice) system and has worked it for 16 years: dyeing the goatskin, fitting a fabric lining, cutting the round pattern and stitching the panels by hand, while women embroiderers finish the star.

Royal blue pairs naturally with white walls, pale oak, rattan and sand-coloured linen, and it looks just as good at the end of a bed, beside an armchair, or out on a covered terrace.
