A Cube That Does More Than Sit in a Corner
This channel stitched leather cube ottoman — 19.7 x 19.7 x 19.7 in (50 x 50 x 50 cm) — is handcrafted from full-grain goat leather in Marrakech, where each panel is hand-cut and hand-stitched with vertical channel seams that give the pouf its distinctive ribbed texture. The equal-sided cube serves as extra seating for guests, a supportive footrest at the end of a sofa, or a sturdy side table when you top it with a tray.
Made to order in small batches — please allow 5-7 business days for production before shipping.
Construction & Channel Stitching
- Square shape: 19.7 x 19.7 x 19.7 in (50 x 50 x 50 cm) — a proportioned cube that holds its structure as a seat, footrest, or side table
- Full-grain goat leather: supple yet durable; develops a rich patina with regular use
- Vertical channel stitching: evenly spaced stitched channels run top to bottom across all four sides, creating a structured ribbed surface
- Zipper base: a concealed zipper at the bottom lets you add or adjust filling at home
- Slight color variation: normal for hand-dyed leather — tonal shifts between panels are a mark of handmade work, not a defect
- Ships flat (unfilled) by default: lowers freight cost; a filled option stuffed with polystyrene foam and cotton is also available for immediate use
- Weight capacity: holds up to ~250 lb (115 kg) when filled
The Craft Behind This Pouf
Abdelilah and the leather artisans behind our poufs work in the Souk Talaa workshops of Marrakech, selecting full-grain goat leather for consistent suppleness before hand-cutting each panel to template. The vertical channel seams are stitched through both layers of leather, creating a visible raised ridge along each channel line that distributes stress across the seam and gives the cube its architectural character. Full-grain goat leather poufs hand-stitched in Marrakech’s Souk Talaa district develop a distinctive patina over time — the leather softens, deepens in color, and becomes more comfortable with every season of use.
Filling Your Pouf
The unfilled option ships flat to reduce shipping weight and cost. Fill it yourself with shredded foam, recycled fabric scraps, or densely packed old clothing — materials that hold shape under load without compressing flat over time. Do not use loose polyfill or feathers, which shift and flatten quickly. Follow our step-by-step guide to filling your pouf for exact fill volumes, recommended materials, and how to achieve a firm sit height.
Care
Wipe the leather surface with a barely damp cloth; never saturate. Condition two to three times a year to prevent the goat leather from stiffening or cracking. Full guidance, including storage and stain removal, is in our leather care guide.

For Interior Designers & Trade Buyers
Interior designers, hospitality buyers, and retail stores ordering in volume can enquire about our wholesale program for interiors, hospitality, and retail buyers — this channel stitched ottoman is available in light brown and additional colors across mixed-size runs, making it a distinctive accent piece for anyone furnishing a calm, characterful room.
A: We offer both options! You can choose a pre-stuffed pouf with premium polyester filling ready to use, or select the unstuffed version with a bottom zipper to fill yourself. The unstuffed option dramatically reduces shipping costs and allows you to customize the firmness to your preference.
A: For a 16x16" square: 50-60 ounces of polyester fiberfill. For 18x18": 60-70 ounces. You can also use old clothes or towels—about 3/4 to one full laundry basket compressed tightly.
A: This is critical! Pack all four corners FIRST, pushing filling deep into each corner until they're very firm. Then stuff the edges, and fill the center last. Soft corners = saggy pouf. The corners should feel almost hard initially. See our complete filling guide.
A: They weren't packed firmly enough. Unzip and add more filling specifically to the corners. Square poufs need extra-firm corner packing to maintain their angular shape—this is the #1 mistake people make.
A: Very, very firm—especially in the corners. It should feel too hard when you first fill it. The square shape loses definition quickly if under-stuffed, unlike round poufs which are more forgiving.
A: Yes! When properly filled (especially the corners), this square pouf supports up to 250 pounds. Make sure corners are packed tight for stability—soft corners make it feel unstable when you sit.
A: Yes! The flat edges align perfectly with furniture and don't roll or shift. The angular top is more stable for trays, drinks, or books. It looks intentional as a table, not improvised.
A: Wipe all surfaces with a soft, dry cloth weekly—the flat top collects dust. Blot spills immediately. Pay attention to the corner seams; use a small brush to clean dust from edges. Condition the leather every 6-12 months.
A: 2-3 days for production, then 7-15 days standard shipping (USA/Europe) with free shipping. Square poufs pack flatter than round ones, making them economical to ship. Express options available.
A: Yes, handcrafted in Marrakech by master artisans. Creating perfect 90-degree corners in leather requires exceptional skill. With proper care and firm stuffing, it will last 10-20+ years. The leather develops a beautiful patina over time.
