A Warm Orange Pouf for Low Seating and Lazy Afternoons

This orange leather pouf is a round floor ottoman, 20.9 x 11.8 in (53 x 30 cm), hand-cut and hand-stitched from goatskin in Marrakech. The leather is hand-dyed a saturated orange, and every seam is finished with a braided stitch in matching thread, so the panels read as one warm, continuous surface. At the centre of the top sits an embroidered star medallion, worked tone-on-tone so it catches the light rather than the eye.

Construction & Surface Detail

• Round shape: 20.9 x 11.8 in (53 x 30 cm), a comfortable footrest height and a low extra seat
• Goatskin leather: from the Dar E-Dbagh tanneries of Marrakech, hand-dyed in orange
• Tonal star embroidery: a star medallion stitched into the top panel in orange thread, embroidered by experienced women artisans
• Braided seams: raised, rope-like stitching outlines each panel, radiating from the top medallion down the sides
• Zipper base: a zipper runs across the bottom panel so you can fill, top up, or re-shape the pouf
• Filled or unfilled: filled arrives ready to use; unfilled ships flat, which lowers freight cost
• Slight colour variation: the leather is hand-dyed, so the shade of orange can vary a little from the photos and between panels

Made by Abdelilah’s Workshop

Abdelilah, the leather artisan behind our poufs, has 16 years of experience and runs his own workshop near Souk Tala’a in Marrakech. Goatskin arrives from Dar E-Dbagh, is hand-dyed, lined with fabric, cut to a round pattern, and hand-stitched panel by panel before the top is passed to the women embroiderers. Slight tonal shifts are the mark of hand-dyeing, not a flaw.

Filling the Unfilled Version

Choose unfilled and the pouf ships flat. Fill it at home with shredded foam, recycled fabric scraps, or old clothes packed firmly; avoid feathers and loose polyfill, which flatten quickly. Our step-by-step guide to filling your pouf walks you through it.

Styling & Care

Orange works as the single bright note in a neutral room: set it against linen, oatmeal, terracotta or olive, or put it on a terrace beside clay pots and a brass tea tray.
