A Sky Blue Leather Round Pouf Made for Versatile Living

This sky blue leather round pouf brings a calm accent to any room — a soft blue that shifts slightly warmer under interior light and cooler in daylight, hand-stitched from full-grain goat leather in Marrakech’s Souk Talaa leather district. The round silhouette and 21-inch diameter make it a natural fit as a footrest beside the sofa, an extra seat for guests, or a low table when you top it with a tray. Each piece carries a hand-embroidered eight-pointed star across the top panel, with decorative whipstitch seams tracing every panel join.

Construction & Surface Detail

  • Round shape — 21 in diameter × 12 in height (53 × 30 cm); comfortable as a footrest, low seat, or tray-topped side table
  • Full-grain goat leather — supple yet durable, with a matte finish that softens and develops character over time
  • Hand-embroidered eight-pointed star — a traditional Moroccan geometric motif stitched onto the top panel by hand
  • Whipstitch panel seams — visible raised stitching along every join, where thread loops over the seam edge to lock panels together
  • Concealed zipper base — allows you to fill and refill the pouf at home
  • Slight color variation is normal — tonal shifts between panels are a mark of hand-dyed leather, not a defect
  • Ships flat (unfilled) — lowers freight cost; fill at home with shredded foam, recycled fabric scraps, or old clothes — do not use loose polyfill or feathers. A filled option is also available.
  • Weight capacity: holds up to ~250 lb (115 kg) when filled

The Craft Behind This Pouf

Abdelilah, the master leather artisan behind our poufs, works in the Marrakech medina selecting goat leather for its pliable drape and resilient grain before hand-cutting each panel to a template. The whipstitch seams are sewn through both layers of leather at once — a traditional technique that distributes seating stress across the stitch rather than the hide itself. Full-grain goat leather hand-cut and hand-stitched in Marrakech softens with use while holding structural integrity for years of daily seating.

Filling Your Pouf

This pouf ships flat and unfilled by default to reduce shipping weight and cost. A filled option (polystyrene foam and cotton) is also available. When filling yourself, use shredded foam, recycled fabric scraps, or densely packed old clothing — materials that hold shape under load without compressing flat over time. Follow our step-by-step guide to filling your pouf for exact fill volumes and recommended materials.

Care

Wipe the leather surface with a barely damp cloth; never saturate. Condition two to three times a year to keep the goat leather supple. Full guidance, including storage and stain removal, is in our leather care guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does this pouf come filled or do I have to stuff it myself?

A: We offer both options! You can purchase this pouf pre-stuffed with premium polyester filling for immediate use, or choose the unstuffed option with a bottom zipper to fill yourself. The unstuffed version saves approximately $100 in shipping costs and lets you control the firmness and filling material.

Q: What should I fill it with and how much do I need?

A: Use 60-80 ounces of polyester fiberfill for comfortable seating (available at craft stores or Amazon for $15-25), or recycle old clothes, towels, and bedding. You'll need about one small laundry basket full of compressed textiles.

Q: How do I actually fill the pouf?

A: Unzip the bottom, open it fully, stuff the outer edges first to create the round shape, then pack the center very tightly. It should feel hard when you're done—it will soften with use. See our complete filling guide.

Q: How firm should I make it?

A: Very firm! Pack it much tighter than you think you need to. The pouf will compress significantly with use, and an under-stuffed pouf will lose its shape and won't be comfortable for sitting.

Q: Can it actually support a person sitting on it?

A: Yes! When properly stuffed, this 21-inch round pouf comfortably supports up to 250 pounds. The key is stuffing it very firmly so it maintains its shape under weight.

Q: How do I clean the leather?

A: Wipe weekly with a soft, dry cloth. For spills, blot immediately—don't rub. Never use water excessively or put it in the washing machine. Apply leather conditioner every 6-12 months to keep it supple.

Q: Will the new leather smell go away?

A: Yes, the natural leather smell fades within 2-4 weeks. This is normal for genuine leather. Air it out in a well-ventilated room to speed up the process. Strong chemical smells indicate fake leather.

Q: How long does it take to arrive?

A: Production takes 2-3 business days, then shipping is 7-15 days for USA/Europe with free standard shipping. Express shipping (3-5 days) is available if you need it faster.

Q: Is this real leather or fake?

A: This is 100% genuine goatskin leather, handcrafted in Morocco. You can tell by the natural variations in texture, the authentic leather smell, and the hand-stitching (never machine-made).

Q: How long will it last?

A: With proper care, 10-20 years or longer. The leather actually gets better with age, developing a rich patina. Many Moroccan families pass these down through generations.

This is a great quality, beautiful pouf cover. I purchased two round , the sapphire blue color, which is rich & stunning. The color looks exactly like the photo. The cover is made of top quality fabric. The poufs are going to work perfectly in my beach house’s living room as foot rests for two chairs. I love my purchase & would buy here again.
